Coginzo delivers custom, project-based development work rather than off-the-shelf products, so refunds are handled differently than in typical e-commerce. This policy explains how advances, milestones, cancellations, and refunds work across our engagements. Specific terms in your written quote or proposal take precedence where they differ from this general policy.
01 Advance Payments
Projects begin after an upfront advance is received, which secures your project slot and covers initial planning, design, and setup work. Once work has started, the advance is non-refundable, as it reflects time and resources already committed to your project.
02 Milestone Payments
For larger projects, payment is typically split across milestones (e.g., design approval, development completion, final delivery). Each milestone payment covers the work completed up to that stage and is non-refundable once the corresponding deliverable has been shared with and reviewed by the client.
03 Cancellation by Client
If you need to cancel a project after work has begun:
- You will be invoiced for all work completed up to the cancellation date, calculated against the agreed project value.
- Any amount paid beyond the value of completed work will be refunded within 14 business days.
- Any amount owed for completed-but-unpaid work must be settled before final files or source code are handed over.
04 Cancellation by Coginzo
In the rare case that we are unable to deliver an agreed project — due to scope that turns out to be infeasible, prolonged non-responsiveness making delivery impossible, or other exceptional circumstances — we will refund any payments made for work not yet completed, in full.
05 Non-Refundable Items
- Third-party costs already incurred on your behalf — domain registration, paid hosting, plugin/theme licenses, API credits, or similar purchases — are non-refundable once purchased.
- Completed and delivered milestones, once approved by the client.
- Custom design, development, or consulting hours already performed, even if the final project is later cancelled.
06 Revisions vs. Refunds
If a deliverable doesn't match the agreed scope or specification, we will fix it at no extra cost within the revision window stated in your quote — this is our default path to resolution rather than a refund. Requests that fall outside the original scope are treated as new work and quoted separately.
07 How to Request a Refund
Email us at infocoginzo@gmail.com with your project name, invoice/payment reference, and the reason for your request. We aim to acknowledge refund requests within 2 business days and resolve them within 14 business days of approval.
08 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Terms agreed in an active project's written quote remain valid for that project even if this general policy is later updated.
